Where: Dublin, OH

Hotel: Extended Stay America - Columbus – Dublin (450 Metro Place North, Dublin, OH 43017)

Sports Facility: Soccer First Inc. (6490 Dublin Park Dr, Dublin, OH 43016)

When: 8:00 am Friday, July 18 – 9:00 pm Sunday, July 20

How?: Driving? I guess that is the how…

Cost: $100/player ($400 Hotel, $300 Gas, $100 Registration)

 

Additional Items Included: Free Uniform (WWL hat, jersey, socks), Banquet Dinner, Snacks & Gatorade throughout tournament, awesome experience (priceless)

What You Need to Bring:

Uniform – Black Shorts, WWL hat, Team Jersey (supplied), Team Socks (supplied), Black undershirt & compression shorts (if desired) 

MOLDED cleats or TURF SHOES only (No metal cleats) **I highly suggest wearing some sort of cleats!*

Clothes

Toiletries

Phone & Wallet, or Purse (Shelton)

$ Food Money – I would bring at least $50 for meals (5 additional meals: Lunch – Fri, Sat, Sun & Dinner – Sat, Sun)

A Collapsible Chair (if desired)

DAY 1: Friday July 18, 2014

7:45 am – Begin Pickups REGIS (Mike, Jordan, Cody) – ELI  (Ancker, Pratt, LaFarnara)

8:00 am – Depart Caledonia, NY

8:30 am – Pick up John and Adam in Batavia, NY

11:45 am – Food (Steak ‘n Shake) in Erie, PA

12:15 pm – Gas and Depart Erie, PA

2:30 pm – Arrive at Hotel and Check-in (Extended Stay America - Columbus – Dublin)

3:00 pm – Eat in Dublin, OH

4:00 pm – Practice (Soccer First Sports Complex)

7:30 pm – Free Banquet Dinner & Pool Play Drawing (Soccer First Sports Complex)

8:30 pm – HR Derby & Award Presentation

9:30 pm – NWLA All-Star Game

11:00 pm – Depart for Hotel

 

Day 2: Saturday JULY 19, 2014

7:00  am – Free Breakfast at Hotel

7:30 am – Depart Hotel

8:00 am – Pool Play Begins

2:00 pm – Pool Play Ends

2:00 pm – Eat Lunch

2:30 pm – Double-Elimination Tournament Begins

8:30 pm – Double-Elimination Tournament Ends

8:30 pm – Depart

9:00 pm – Eat Dinner

 

Day 3: Sunday JULY 20, 2014

7:00 am – Free Breakfast at Hotel

7:30 am – Leave for Sports Complex

8:00 am – Double Elimination Tournament Resumes & Consolation Bracket Starts

12:00 pm – Eat Lunch

3:00 pm – Leave

5:00 pm – Stop for Dinner

8:30 pm – Drop off Adam and John

9:00 pm – Arrive Home

2014 Tournament Details


Tournament Format
Pool Play to Determine Seeding (Saturday)

    • 3 games
    • Pools will be determined by draw Friday Night
    • Games time limited, no new inning can begin after 45 minutes
    • Games can end in a tie
    • 16 Team Pool Play Schedule

Double Elimination Tournament to Determine Champion (Saturday and Sunday)

    • Seeding by points from pool play (2 points for a WIN, 1 point for TIE), then head to head if possible, then run differential, then team total bases
    • DE TOURNAMENT BRACKET

Consolation Single Elimination “Dangerfield” Bracket (Sunday)

    • ONLY for Teams that Go 0-2 in the DE Tournament
    • Seeding Same as DE Tournament, Based on Pool Play Results
    • Stats Will Be Kept, But Will Be Treated Separately from Pool/DE Stats (Similar to All Star, Exhibition Stats)
    • DANGERFIELD BRACKET

      • 5 PM – HVWBL (Red) / MNWA (Blue) / MYWL (Green N) / SRL (Green S)
      • 6 PM – GBL (Red) / HRL (Blue) / HWL (Green N) / MWL (Green S)
      • 7 PM – CWBS (Red) / KWL (Blue) / OCWA (Green N) / SWBL (Green S)
    • 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM – Registration Open
      • All Players/Coaches/Guests Sign In for NWLA Shirt and Sign Waiver
      • All Managers Pickup Team Welcome Packet
    • 7:30 PM – Welcome Dinner (Food Tent)
      • Buffet Dinner Open to All Guests (Free of Charge)
    • 8:00 PM – Pool Play Draw (Food Tent)
      • Introduction of Host Committee Members
      • Managers will Draw for Schedule # in League Alphabetical Order
      • Managers Give Brief Introduction of Their League and Team
    • 8:30 PM – Home Run Contest (Field TBD)
      • Color Commentary and Announcing by Carl Coffee and Sam Skibbe
      • 1 Participant Designated by Each Team
      • Participant chooses their pitcher (anyone they want)
      • Pitcher Must Have At Least 1 Foot In Pitchers Circle When Pitching
      • Players Bat In Order of Team Schedule # Draw
      • Two Rounds of Competition
      • All Players Get 10 Outs In 1st Round (Any swing that isn’t a HR is an Out)
      • Top 4 Players (and ties) Advance to 2nd Round for 10 More Outs
      • Most Home Runs in 2nd Round Wins
      • Tiebreaker for Champion Rounds Continue at 5 Outs Until Broken
      • Participants Wear Official HR Derby Uniforms
    • 9:15 PM – Awards Presentations and Pre-game Introductions (Field TBD)
      • 2014 Award Presented by Sam Skibbe
      • Ceremonial First Pitch by Award Winner
      • All Star Rosters Introduced
      • National Anthem
    • 9:30 PM – All Star Game (Field TBD)
      • Managed by Justin Tomkins (OCWA) and Derek Linderman (TBW)
      • 1 Player Designated by Each Team for Player Draft
      • Player Draft Held Prior to Game by Managers to Set Teams
      • 1 IP Limit Per Pitcher
      • All 8 Players Can Bat In the Lineup
      • Players Wear NWLA All Star Uniforms
      • Linderman’s Team Has Home Field Advantage
