It’s playoff time in the Washburn Wiffleball League.  The #6 seeded Tenant Terrapins would take on the #3 seeded Oatka Quackers in the East Avenue Divisional Game.  Regis Pollard and the Oatka Quackers proved their dominance as the Quackers would mercy the Terrapins 12-0 in 5 innings.  Pollard would earn the win as he threw a two-hitter with 15 Ks.  At the plate, Jordan Shelton went 3-9 with 7 RBIs.  Darren McGuire also added a HR and 3 RBIs for the Quackers offense.  John LaFarnara would earn the loss, but still struck out 8 batters.  Alex Hall had both hits for the Terrapins offense.  The Oatka Quackers would advance to play the Hamilton Heat in the East Ave Divisional Championship Series.

The #3 Oatka Quackers and the top seeded Hamilton Heat met next in the first of their three game series, in which the winner advances to the World Series.  The game was scoreless through four innings until Jordan Shelton hit back to back home runs to make the score 4-0.  The score would remain that way until the end, as Shelton finished the day 5-7 with 4 RBIs.  Regis Pollard added 4 hits for the Quackers, while Jon Cappotelli led the Heat with 5 hits.  Cody Hammond and Steve Gaffney both pitched complete games for their squads and combined for 27 strikeouts.   The Hamilton Heat left 10 batters on base, 5 of which were in scoring position.   The Quackers take a 1-0 lead in the series and game two will be played this Sunday at 12:00 pm.

The #5 Burnwash Bombers and #4 Mumford Suns will also play Sunday in the Main Street Divisional Game.  The winner will advance to play the #2 Washburn Workhorses in the Main St. Divisional Championship Series.  For a complete list of game times, visit the WWL Schedule.
