One Spot Left

    There is one spot left in the World Series, after the Oatka Quackers clinched the first bid in the finale this past Sunday.  The final World Series team will be determined Wednesday night as the Burnwash Bombers take on the Washburn Workhorses at Belcoda Park.  Here are how all the playoff games played out this week:

    The Burnwash Bombers (6-6) took down the Mumford Suns (1-11) with a 14-9 victory in the first round of the playoffs.  Chris Peterson led the way going 5 for 8 with 7 RBI's, while Jake Kocher got the win on the hill.  Trevor Swan picked up the loss for the Suns, who blew a 9-2 lead and were eliminated from the playoffs.  [Box Score]

    The Westside Whompers (3-9) knocked off the Donia Dozers (7-5) with an 11-8 upset win.  Joe Cappotelli picked up the win and went 4 for 7 at the plate with 3 RBI's.  Steve Gaffney finished 5 for 8 with a HR and 6 RBI and Matt Donegan took the loss for the Dozers.  [Box Score]

    Kevin Keenan led the Oatka Quackers to a 20-1 victory over the Westside Whompers, as the Quackers advanced to the World Series final.  Keenan went 4 for 4 at the plate with a HR and 7 RBI, while Pollard picked up the win on the mound.  Joe Cappotelli earned the loss as the Whompers were eliminated from the playoffs.  [Box Score]
