February 2, 2011
— This afternoon the WWL announced that the Oatka Quackers again were searching in the market. This time they came out of the pond with two prospects, Josh Swan and Darren McGuire.

Swan, a student at CMCS has been making his name in the backyard world for many years now. Whether its basketball at the park or hockey in the street you will find Swan nearby. A talented singer, he will now bring all his talents to the Quackers this spring. Manager Pollard commented on the prospect stating, “Swan is an athlete no matter how you put it. He is a little bit of a dark horse in this League , but we’re lucky to land him on our team.”

Along with Swan will be Darren McGuire, a member of the Cal-Mum Red Raider Baseball team. McGuire played the backup role at 3rd and saw some action last year for the high school. In 12 at bats, McGuire had an impressive 5 hits, with only one strike out. He can also pitch, so look for him to show up in the Quackers rotation. McGuire, along with Swan, will fill up the roster for Oatka. Look for an aggressive attack from the Quack’ in the WWL this year.
